As a fully approved contractor we can undertake all kinds of work in all kinds of premises (with a few exceptions in an industrial setting; please ask!).

We like to discuss with clients their intentions and desires for any electrical installation or remedial work, and therefore designs and costs will vary in each case.

Some things to consider about electrical installation or remedial work:

Installation or remedial work is a messy business. Whenever possible we try to minimise this mess, but it is impossible to do a totally mess-free job. Please bear in mind that you will face a redecoration cost following most electrical works.

It is nigh on impossible to predict the exact time required for most investigation, installation or remedial works. In the case of investigative works, we might often be trying to find the electrical equivalent of a needle in a haystack (sometimes we get lucky and the answer is found easily, other times it can take days!) There are time hazards peculiar to installation work as well. Please be aware that delays irritate any electrician as much as they irritate you!

Sadly, we cannot predict whether or not something will be safe into the future. We cannot predict how any users will treat your electrical installation once we have left the premises. As much as we can do is assess its safety on a given day in relation to the standards of that day. Even a new build house is recommended for an electrical re-test after ten years (five years in rented property). The recommendations for testing frequency are set with reference to the fact that materials used in electrical installations and equipment break down over time, and usage can affect the rate at which the materials deteriorate.
